AMERICAN AQUARIUM RELEASE NEW ALBUM, SHARE VIDEO FOR SINGLE
American Aquarium’s new album, Wolves, is passionate, soulful and reflective. Released on February 3rd, the 10-track offering evokes drinking cold beers on a lazy
Sunday and lounging in the tall grass of a southern riverbank. It’s their seventh album since forming in 2006, and a strong contribution to their quality catalogue of southern-rock sounds. Complex bass lines, tasty guitar riffs and unique instrumentation separate this collection from the rest of the pack.
They recently shared the music video for “Losing Side Of Twenty Five,” a shambling, downtrodden track that finds solace by its conclusion. The visuals see our protagonist beginning as a carefree child, playing with youthful abandon as the vocals speak of the success of friends and changing times. The boy goes to sleep and wakes up as a man in his mid-twenties, lamenting about his lack of success and his menial day-to-day tasks as the chorus preaches, “The Losing Side of Twenty Five.” He realizes, however, that “There are different roads to happiness” as he drives his Chevy pickup down to a bonfire with all of his friends, and we’re left with resigned steel guitar fading into the background.
