THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN ADDS 2ND SF SHOW TO NORTH AMERICAN TOUR IN MAY
Scottish alt-rockers The Jesus and Mary Chain are known for their raw, unapologetic sound and their devil-may-care attitude. An influential staple on the scene for 30 years now, the band’s debut album, Psychocandy, was released in 1985 to fantastic reviews from critics and fans, influencing the shoegazing movement and solidifying their position in music history. In including Psychocandy on their list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, Rolling Stone said, "The Jesus and Mary Chain's debut is a decadent alt-rock masterpiece of bubblegum pop - with "Just Like Honey," "My Little Underground" and "Never Understand" - drowned in feedback." It truly is a fantastic album filled with beautiful grit and grime, and an essential listen.
In celebration of the 30th anniversary of Psychocandy, The Jesus and Mary Chain will be rocking a North American tour beginning in May, playing their seminal album from start to finish at each show. And to extend the party, they’ve added a second night at Warfield in San Francisco as the final stop. Check out the tour dates below and give this influential band a listen if you haven’t yet!
