TWELVIDEOS of August - a playlist

August 01, 2012 2:10 PM

Is it really August already? Well we here at TWELV know how fast time flies when you’re having fun. Or when you’re vibing on the coolest new music videos. Check out these selections, and sieze the summer while it’s still upon us!

1. Passion Pit | “Constant Conversations”

Not much talking gets done in this chilled, yet steamy new video for the Gossamer track. Michael Angelakos’ family reunion looks more like a Versace ad, with a monochrome-styled all-star cast, and a snake in the bathtub. Direction by Dori Oskowitz

2. Yeasayer | “Henrietta”

This stunning, nu-kaleidoscope visual marks the commencement of Yeasayer’s web-wide scavenger hunt in promotion of their new album, Fragrant World. The band have embedded visuals to accompany their new tracks throughout the internet, for fans to find before August 8. Check their twitter for hints.

3. Frankie Rose | “Know Me”

Blade Runner futurism meets Urban Outfitters hipsterism in this Ricardo Rivera-directed clip. Once Frankie Rose crashes the triangle party, the goggles of pretension all come off. Interstellar is out now.

4. Ladyhawke | “Blue Eyes”

Pip Brown takes us on a trip (pun intended) through the desert with the help of Carne and Queso’s mind melting animations. A meal of Brussels sprouts and holy water goes a long way in the psychedelic sahara. Her latest album, Anxiety, is out now.

5. Washed Out | “A Dedication”

Before you start dissembling the air conditioner, let this mesmerizing tribute to the summer months whisk you away. Washed Out’s Earnest Greene continues to tug on our heart strings with visuals for his recent album, Within and Without.
