UNICEF’s Next Generation Photo Benefit

May 20, 2013 3:54 PM

On May 17, UNICEF hosted its 4th annual Next Generation Photo Benefit at the Milk Gallery presented by Serenity Pharmaceuticals. “Seeing ZERO,” this year’s theme, invited both professional and Next Generation photographers to submit their interpretation of ZERO, through shape, feeling, place, or abstraction.

Guests were treated to an open bar and hors d’oeuvres while partaking in the event’s silent auction. With music playing in the background, guests were transported through the lenses of the artists into their worlds of ZERO. This year’s theme stemmed from the U.S. fund for UNICEF’s belief that the number of children dying from preventable diseases should be zero.

UNICEF’s Next Generation is comprised of a group of young professionals, aged 21- 40 years, who have committed themselves to UNICEF’s mission of reducing the number of daily preventable deaths of children from 19,000 to zero. Proceeds from this year’s event will support Next Generation’s Columbia Project. Next Generation’s fundraising goal of $100,000 will protect the indigenous Columbian women and children from violence, while providing nutrition and fresh water to the communities they live in.
